It was just really cold and windy today. Thank goodness Collin had an extra pair of gloves seeing as I forgot mine. He's a real friend.

Mile warm up then started the workout. Workout was 2×1000 3×800 4×400 at 2mile pace so 6:00min/mile pace. 90sec rest between each. It was definitely a rough workout, I was feeling sick and pretty unmotivated. Splits were 3:53, 3:52, 3:17, 3:20, 3:18, 94, 94, 88, 88. I had a hard time keeping up with the rest of the girls today, Fridays workout I'm planning on doing better though. Didn't have enough mileage to cool down so I hopped on the bike for 10min. Then did some clams and abs.

Just easy distance today. Jamie ran 3 with us which was the best! We ran past her grandma and her aunts house, who knew they also lived in Lehi! Finished up another two after dropping Jamie off back at the high school. Then did some weights and abs. Unshoutout to all of the people who threw snowballs at me today...I will get you all back. Also shoutout to Lil Nug who let me wear her gloves!

Cross training so I did a 50free warm up then I did a breathing workout, so on the odd 25s I increase the amount of strokes between each breath (every 2 strokes, every 3, etc up to 12) and on the even 25s I just went easy for recovery. After that I did an easy 50breaststroke then 4×25m hard kick, with 25m easy kick between each. Then an easy 100free cool down.

I'm down in St George for the weekend so I did the speed workout on the Desert Hills track. 4×(200, 400, 200) at goal mile pace with 60sec rest between and 3min rest between each set. Average for my 200s was 40sec and average for my 400s was 82sec. It was a really good workout and I definitely stayed strong mentally which was my problem on Tuesday so that's good. Even better than that, the weather down here is fantastic. It's so warm and no snow patches on the track so that's a bonus! Afterwards we were stuck at the HS for a bit because my mom was at the conference so we went to the basketball game so that was sick.

High mileage plus two today so I got to go pretty far. Still in St. George so I ran along this trail that goes past Dixie rock and is kind of up above the valley. It was again super warm which was so amazing. Afterwards did some exploring and found some cool stuff.

Mile warm up then 6×(400, 200) at indoor goal mile pace. 45sec rest between the 400 and 200 and 2min rest between each set. Splits ended up being 83, 41, 81, 41, 81, 41, 81, 40, 80, 40, 82, 40. Jamie ran with us today which was nice, she really helped with the pacing. Overall today I felt really strong mentally and physically despite being sore still from last week. I was able to stick up with the other girls which was good. Afterwards I cooled down a bit barefoot on the turf, which was quite a bit warmer than I though it would be so that was a bonus.

Went swimming today: 250m warm up then 10×(50 swim the shallow jog the deep) and 3×(200m pull *freestyle without kicking) and 150m cool down. Then did some weights after. Shout out to Collin and Austin for coming with me!

Did a shakeout two miles during fourth. Drove up to the Oval with Gups, did a mile warm up then got split into heats. I was in the fourth heat with Mario and Kaylee. Going into the race I just wanted to work on sticking with the girls and having a good kick. We started the race and got a bit boxed in but then I made it out and came in right behind Mario and Kaylee. I stuck right behind them the whole time and on the last lap I told myself to start my kick so I did and it ended up being really good. Overall I was happy with my race for sure.

Made the kinda spontaneous decision to run 800 so got in for that, basically just wanted to nit die. It was definitely a tough race my legs started to hurt really bad by the end. So my kick ended up a bit rough but I still pulled out an okay time of 2:38 but I'm still pretty happy with that considering I also ran the mile.

Afterwards got some quality Cafe Rio with Watson and Gan so shout out to them for that!

Had to do some Oxygen Certification for work in the morning so I just ran there, it was a pretty enjoyable run, there weren't many people out so it was really peaceful which was nice. Had sweethearts so I busted out some pretty crazy dance moves lol but it was definitely a blast

Woke up early to run so I didn't go with the rest of the team. Jamie had me do 10x400m at 2mile pace with 2:30min rest, then 2x100m all out with 1:00min rest. The workout was pretty chill, just more pacing than anything else. My splits were all around 90sec so thats perfect. Shoutout to the old guy who was also doing a workout on the track this morning, he kills it. Afterwards I hiked Horsetail falls with Badoobs, Christian and Kallie, and we brought a bunch of dogs so that was sick. #5dogs&4dawgs

Collin drove us up and we got there at like 4. Warmed up around 5:40 and met a super cool girl from skyview so we warms up together. Went down to the bullpen and I was feeling petty good but I was more nervous than usual. Did some strides and just kinda prepped for the race. They lined us up and I was on the inside waterfall, I got out at the start really good and fell into a really good position. First 400 was an 82 which was quite a bit faster than I was needing (I was going for 92's) but I didn't stress I just kind of went with it. After the first 400 my right shoe came untied but I was able to ignore it pretty well so that's good. First mile came through at 6:03 and I was feeling really good. Next 400 I focused on surging and staying with the girl who was just ahead of me. But when she started to break away I didn't go with her, and even though my splits stayed pretty consistent they weren't fast enough and I knew and I didn't do anything about it and I'm so mad that I didn't because I could've been way faster. Overall my time was consistent but not what I'm wanted, these next few weeks I'm going to focus a lot on making sure I don't get too comfortable with a pace in my races, I just need to be ok with having it feel a little too fast and being ok with it anyways.

On the other hand Simplot was a lot of fun and definitely a good experience. Shout out to Connor Gan and Guppy for making it to finals and good luck to everyone who's going to be racing on Saturday!

Easy recovery today, the weather was absolutely fantastic which is the best. Also Watson and I pulled out some pretty sick moves today after our run so shout out to us for that.

Had work at 4:45 this morning but I was done by 9 so afterwards I met up with Watson and did a 4ish mile loop by my house. For lunch I made a killer salad and then I walked to the park and played with the chums. Weather is great today Thank goodness for that.

Started out and it was pretty warm but I was not feeling very good. As the run went on I started to feel better but then it started snowing which was super freezing cold and afterwards I was all wet. Shout out to Collin for running some of it with us!

Warmed up two miles then got ready to do speed. Right when we started the first 200 I felt my hip flexor strain or something, anyway it hurt and I talked to Jamie, she said to jog around and see if it felt better so I did and I could feel it kinda pulling but it didn't hurt so I tried another 200 but that hurt quite a bit so I stopped. I did some on the turf then finished up with girls. I'm thinking all I did was tweak my hip flexor a bit so I stretched it out and iced it and I'm gonna try speed tomorrow so we'll see how that goes. On a side note Collin tried to break my legs when he rolled me out today, that was rough.

Did the speed workout today so warmed up two miles then did 2×(200,400,200) with 45sec rest and 3min rest between sets along with 30 lunges. 200s at 800 pace and 400s at mile pace. Splits were 36, 80, 36, 36, 83, 36 so that was good. Hip flexor felt ok so that's good.

Cross Training-150free warm up then 10×(25aqua jog, 75free, breathing every six strokes) then 200kick and for a cool down 50breaststroke and 100feee. Arms and legs were pretty sore today so it was a bit rough. Took a two hour nap in the sun today so you know I'm feeling good.

Gan came with me to swim so we met up and then we did 50free warm up, 8×(50 swim the shallow jog the deep) then Gan left and I did the workout where I breathe every other stroke, then every 3 strokes, every 4, etc up to 12 strokes on the odd laps, and on the even laps I did easy recovery breathing every other stroke. Then 300kick and 8×(25lung buster, 25aqua jog) and 50breaststroke cool down. It was really long and by the end I really wanted to stop but I kept going so I guess you could say I won that mental battle.

Dreammaker today to start off Awesome Week. It did not go well. We were running straight into the wind the whole time which definitely added to my fatigue. I lost it mentally once I got to the hill and I slowed way down. I got 12:00 flat which is 52sec slower than my pr...so I really should have gone faster. But no worries we've got more speed tomorrow so I'm gonna focus on that.
