| | 70min Saturday so I did 40min on the elliptical, and watched part of Remember the Titans while I was on it which was fairly motivating, then hit the road for the run. I actually felt really good today as well despite doing the elliptical before, and it was pretty warm outside as well which was nice. |

| | Forgot my clothes at home so then I was late for practice and had to run alone. It was a really good run though, just some good time to think about life and such. Afterwards some abs and shoutout to Guppy for hangin with me today! |

| | Finally did a speed workout!!! 3 sets of 3×300 at goal mile pace for the indoor season with 45sec active rest between each 300 and 4min active rest between each set. My goal was to hit 60-62sec for each 300, my splits were 59 62 62 61 61 63 61 62 60. The workout was really good, my legs felt strong and like they might've had more to give, but it was really hard to breath on account of how cold it was outside. But overall I felt like it was a really solid workout and I feel ready for BYU on Saturday! Afterwards did some weights and I just finished a nice session of yoga which was fantastic. |

BYU Indoor High School Invitational (1 Miles) 00:05:57 | | Got to the track and did a warm up mile, then a little later then started the race. I wasn't super happy with my time but I felt really focused and into the race so overall I felt like it was good. I think I just need to get out of cross country mode and then things will be looking good! |

| | Went out to some hot pots in Meadow today and we got home kinda late so I didn't start til like 4:30ish and by then it was kinda snowing, but it wasn't actually very cold #countmyblessings and the snow was really pretty it ended up being a nice peaceful run which was perfect. |
Saucony Mirage 5 Second Pair Miles: 4.00 |

| | 6×(800m) at indoor 2mile goal pace with 2min rest between each 800. Our goal was to hit 3:05 or faster for each one, my splits ended being 3:02, 3:03, 3:03, 3:07, 3:10, 3:14 I felt really strong at the beginning and even the first laps of set four and five, but I fell apart the last lap. I was just really tired and I couldn't convince myself to go faster so I definitely need to work on that. Overall though I am pleased with the workout. |

| | 250free warm up the 5*(50m easy aqua jog, 50m hard aqua jog, 50m easy swim, 50m hard swim) then 250free cool down. Shoutout to Collin for coming with me even though it was like 9pm!
| |
| | 1.5mile warm up then 2*(400, 600, 200) at goal indoor mile pace. I was going for like 5:40 pace, my splits ended up being 84, 2:07, 40, 84, 2:10, 36 so I was pretty much right on for the whole thing. I got a little frusturated on the last 600, but I still stayed pretty strong mentally. I know I'm pushing myself hard and the times are gonna come, I just need to be patient. |

| | Easy run today and 5×150m build ups I went a mile less today so I can go a mile more tomorrow so that'll be sick. Also shout out to Connor for going to Cafe Rio with me, twas pretty tasty. And shout out to Coach G. for letting me hold baby Finn, he's adorable. |

| | Met Guppy, Gan, and Watson at the HS. We headed up over the overpass and then took a right past AF Jr High then another right and past AF Cemetery, then back on State St. Afterwards we did a quick bike workout (5min hill climb, 2min rest, 3min hill climb, 1min rest, 1min hard, 2min rest.) Then we headed over to kneaders where I had an especially delicious Italian Omelet. Shout out to Gan for taking a fall on the run today, and shout out to the police officer who drove by to make sure she was okay, he's the real MVP. |
Saucony Mirage 5 Second Pair Miles: 7.00 |

| | Just an easy distance run today, we went on the trail that goes along the railroad tracks which we haven't done before so that was sick. Afterwards 10min of abs, and some hurdle drills cuz we apparently aren't flexible enough. Good times. :) |
Saucony Mirage 5 Second Pair Miles: 6.00 |
|
| | 2mile warm up then 10×200 at mile pace with 90sec rest, first five avg splits are around 39sec and second five avg splits 36sec then cooled down to 6miles. This higher mileage has been nice, it's been a while since I've ran so far. |
Saucony Mirage 5 Second Pair Miles: 6.00 |

| | Cross training so I did a 50free warm up then I did a breathing workout, so on the odd 25s I increase the amount of strokes between each breath (every 2 strokes, every 3, etc up to 12) and on the even 25s I just went easy for recovery. After that I did an easy 50breaststroke then 250kick then 100free cool down. Afterwards got some weights in so that was good. |
| | Mile warm up then strides and pre meet (two 400s at mile pace) 85s both times, and some starts. Jamie ran the 400s with us and the cool down which was fantastic, she needs to run with us more. |

2016 UHSTCA Indoor Meet (1 Miles) 00:05:53 | | Got up to the ice oval around 3:30, warm up was super spotty I got in like a lap and then they made me sit in the bullpen for a while, after that I got another lap in and did some stretches, ate the snickers, and was ready to go. Got to the line and the gun went off, I got out good and fell in kind of between the two front packs with another girl or two. I stayed pretty focused and worked and just moving up and catching up to other girls. Last two laps I kinda fell off and my kick was not fantastic so I need to work on that. My biggest problem right now is still just pacing, I'm having a hard time getting used to the faster pace. I definitely had some energy left over so I should've raced harder. That's ok we'll work on it. On the bright side I cut some time off from BYU so that's good. Hopefully there are more good things to come. Shout out to all the kids on the team who raced today! |

UHSTCA Indoor Invite (2 Miles) 00:12:28 | | Got up to the Oval and realized that I forgot my bib at home #classic so we had to alter another one but no worries it worked out fine. Elevated my legs and then me and Gan warmed up a mile ish (we stayed inside so we just ran for like 10min.) Figured out what our splits should be each lap (1:43s) got to the line, gun went off. Got out pretty good, had to go around a group that was a few girls wide but it wasn't bad since we started on the strait. Just focused on holding pace, me Gan stayed right together and for a while it was just the two of us. Lap splits were all on pace or a bit faster except like lap 5 which wad a 1:46. I lost Gan with about 800 to go so I just focused on trying to pick up the pace and kept my eyes up. Should've started my kick a bit sooner cuz it could've been faster but that's ok. Overall I was really happy with my race, the 3200 is really my favorite race and definitely felt good to finally do it this season. Shout out to Jamie for being such a great coach and helping us to stay on pace! And shout out to the rest of the team for some solid cheering. Also huge shout out to Gan for being brave and doing the two mile for the first time! Oh and to my parent cuz they just treated me to some Texas Roadhouse which was fantastic as always :) |

| | Mile warm up then started the workout. Workout was 2×1000 3×800 4×400 at 2mile pace so 6:00min/mile pace. 90sec rest between each. It was definitely a rough workout, I was feeling sick and pretty unmotivated. Splits were 3:53, 3:52, 3:17, 3:20, 3:18, 94, 94, 88, 88. I had a hard time keeping up with the rest of the girls today, Fridays workout I'm planning on doing better though. Didn't have enough mileage to cool down so I hopped on the bike for 10min. Then did some clams and abs. |
Saucony Mirage 5 Second Pair Miles: 5.25 |
| |
| | Just easy distance today. Jamie ran 3 with us which was the best! We ran past her grandma and her aunts house, who knew they also lived in Lehi! Finished up another two after dropping Jamie off back at the high school. Then did some weights and abs. Unshoutout to all of the people who threw snowballs at me today...I will get you all back. Also shoutout to Lil Nug who let me wear her gloves! |
Saucony Mirage 5 Second Pair Miles: 5.00 |

| | Cross training so I did a 50free warm up then I did a breathing workout, so on the odd 25s I increase the amount of strokes between each breath (every 2 strokes, every 3, etc up to 12) and on the even 25s I just went easy for recovery. After that I did an easy 50breaststroke then 4×25m hard kick, with 25m easy kick between each. Then an easy 100free cool down. |
| | I'm down in St George for the weekend so I did the speed workout on the Desert Hills track. 4×(200, 400, 200) at goal mile pace with 60sec rest between and 3min rest between each set. Average for my 200s was 40sec and average for my 400s was 82sec. It was a really good workout and I definitely stayed strong mentally which was my problem on Tuesday so that's good. Even better than that, the weather down here is fantastic. It's so warm and no snow patches on the track so that's a bonus! Afterwards we were stuck at the HS for a bit because my mom was at the conference so we went to the basketball game so that was sick. |
Saucony Mirage 5 Miles: 6.00 |

| | High mileage plus two today so I got to go pretty far. Still in St. George so I ran along this trail that goes past Dixie rock and is kind of up above the valley. It was again super warm which was so amazing. Afterwards did some exploring and found some cool stuff.

| | Mile warm up then 6×(400, 200) at indoor goal mile pace. 45sec rest between the 400 and 200 and 2min rest between each set. Splits ended up being 83, 41, 81, 41, 81, 41, 81, 40, 80, 40, 82, 40. Jamie ran with us today which was nice, she really helped with the pacing. Overall today I felt really strong mentally and physically despite being sore still from last week. I was able to stick up with the other girls which was good. Afterwards I cooled down a bit barefoot on the turf, which was quite a bit warmer than I though it would be so that was a bonus. |

| | Went swimming today: 250m warm up then 10×(50 swim the shallow jog the deep) and 3×(200m pull *freestyle without kicking) and 150m cool down. Then did some weights after. Shout out to Collin and Austin for coming with me! |
| | Pre meet today. The air was gross so after the run did some on the bike to make up the mileage. Shout out to Gan for being the best. |

Distance Challenge (1 Miles) 00:05:45 | | Did a shakeout two miles during fourth. Drove up to the Oval with Gups, did a mile warm up then got split into heats. I was in the fourth heat with Mario and Kaylee. Going into the race I just wanted to work on sticking with the girls and having a good kick. We started the race and got a bit boxed in but then I made it out and came in right behind Mario and Kaylee. I stuck right behind them the whole time and on the last lap I told myself to start my kick so I did and it ended up being really good. Overall I was happy with my race for sure. Made the kinda spontaneous decision to run 800 so got in for that, basically just wanted to nit die. It was definitely a tough race my legs started to hurt really bad by the end. So my kick ended up a bit rough but I still pulled out an okay time of 2:38 but I'm still pretty happy with that considering I also ran the mile. Afterwards got some quality Cafe Rio with Watson and Gan so shout out to them for that! |
Saucony Mirage 5 Second Pair Miles: 4.50 | Saucony Endorphins Miles: 1.50 |
|
| | Had to do some Oxygen Certification for work in the morning so I just ran there, it was a pretty enjoyable run, there weren't many people out so it was really peaceful which was nice. Had sweethearts so I busted out some pretty crazy dance moves lol but it was definitely a blast |
Saucony Mirage 5 Second Pair Miles: 5.00 |
|
| | Woke up early to run so I didn't go with the rest of the team. Jamie had me do 10x400m at 2mile pace with 2:30min rest, then 2x100m all out with 1:00min rest. The workout was pretty chill, just more pacing than anything else. My splits were all around 90sec so thats perfect. Shoutout to the old guy who was also doing a workout on the track this morning, he kills it. Afterwards I hiked Horsetail falls with Badoobs, Christian and Kallie, and we brought a bunch of dogs so that was sick. #5dogs&4dawgs

Simplot Games (2 Miles) 00:12:30 | | Collin drove us up and we got there at like 4. Warmed up around 5:40 and met a super cool girl from skyview so we warms up together. Went down to the bullpen and I was feeling petty good but I was more nervous than usual. Did some strides and just kinda prepped for the race. They lined us up and I was on the inside waterfall, I got out at the start really good and fell into a really good position. First 400 was an 82 which was quite a bit faster than I was needing (I was going for 92's) but I didn't stress I just kind of went with it. After the first 400 my right shoe came untied but I was able to ignore it pretty well so that's good. First mile came through at 6:03 and I was feeling really good. Next 400 I focused on surging and staying with the girl who was just ahead of me. But when she started to break away I didn't go with her, and even though my splits stayed pretty consistent they weren't fast enough and I knew and I didn't do anything about it and I'm so mad that I didn't because I could've been way faster. Overall my time was consistent but not what I'm wanted, these next few weeks I'm going to focus a lot on making sure I don't get too comfortable with a pace in my races, I just need to be ok with having it feel a little too fast and being ok with it anyways. On the other hand Simplot was a lot of fun and definitely a good experience. Shout out to Connor Gan and Guppy for making it to finals and good luck to everyone who's going to be racing on Saturday! |

| | Had work at 4:45 this morning but I was done by 9 so afterwards I met up with Watson and did a 4ish mile loop by my house. For lunch I made a killer salad and then I walked to the park and played with the chums. Weather is great today Thank goodness for that. |

| | Warmed up two miles then got ready to do speed. Right when we started the first 200 I felt my hip flexor strain or something, anyway it hurt and I talked to Jamie, she said to jog around and see if it felt better so I did and I could feel it kinda pulling but it didn't hurt so I tried another 200 but that hurt quite a bit so I stopped. I did some on the turf then finished up with girls. I'm thinking all I did was tweak my hip flexor a bit so I stretched it out and iced it and I'm gonna try speed tomorrow so we'll see how that goes. On a side note Collin tried to break my legs when he rolled me out today, that was rough. |

| | Did the speed workout today so warmed up two miles then did 2×(200,400,200) with 45sec rest and 3min rest between sets along with 30 lunges. 200s at 800 pace and 400s at mile pace. Splits were 36, 80, 36, 36, 83, 36 so that was good. Hip flexor felt ok so that's good. |
Barefoot Miles: 2.50 | Saucony Mirage 5 Second Pair Miles: 3.50 |

| | Cross Training-150free warm up then 10×(25aqua jog, 75free, breathing every six strokes) then 200kick and for a cool down 50breaststroke and 100feee. Arms and legs were pretty sore today so it was a bit rough. Took a two hour nap in the sun today so you know I'm feeling good. |
| | Gan came with me to swim so we met up and then we did 50free warm up, 8×(50 swim the shallow jog the deep) then Gan left and I did the workout where I breathe every other stroke, then every 3 strokes, every 4, etc up to 12 strokes on the odd laps, and on the even laps I did easy recovery breathing every other stroke. Then 300kick and 8×(25lung buster, 25aqua jog) and 50breaststroke cool down. It was really long and by the end I really wanted to stop but I kept going so I guess you could say I won that mental battle. |
| | Dreammaker today to start off Awesome Week. It did not go well. We were running straight into the wind the whole time which definitely added to my fatigue. I lost it mentally once I got to the hill and I slowed way down. I got 12:00 flat which is 52sec slower than my pr...so I really should have gone faster. But no worries we've got more speed tomorrow so I'm gonna focus on that. |
Barefoot Miles: 1.00 | Saucony Mirage 5 Second Pair Miles: 3.00 |
|
| | Warmed up a mile on the turf then did 5x500 today at 800 pace for the first 400 and as fast as you could for the last 100 with 6min rest between each 500. Splits ended up being 75, 75, 79, 82, 80. It was definitely a hard workout but I stayed really strong mentally which is an improvement from yesterday. I kept my eyes on the other girls and pushed myself as hard as I could. So I'm happy with how the workout went. And shoutout to all the juniors who took the ACT, thanks for the day off. :)

| | Cross Training-Me Riley and Collin headed to the pool, did 250free warm up then 10×(50 swim the shallow jog the deep) and 250 cool down. Took it easy for some good ole recovery so it wasn't bad but I'm definitely tired from yesterday. Also had some quality Roxberry with some quality people ;) and I just bought a sick backpacking pack so that's pretty sweet | |
| | I'm not gonna lie today was rough. My entire body was just super exhausted. But it was HOT today which was amazing. Lovin the weather! |
Saucony Mirage 5 Second Pair Miles: 4.00 |
| |
| | Mile warm up to the cemetery then did some Whistle Hills so 2×15,20,25 and 1×20,25,30 pretty much just as fast as you can with the rest being a slow jog back. I felt really good today so that's good. Afterwards some abs and then an ice bath, whew that was cold! Shout out to Collin for throwing some ice at me during abs he has quite the aim lol, and to Baby Finn because I held him today and he's adorable. |

Saucony Mirage 5 Second Pair Miles: 4.00 |
|
| | Half mile warm up then we a circuit workout, 2X(400m 1min v-ups, 800m 1min speed squats, 400m 1min push ups, 400m 1min lunges, 400m 1min crunchy frogs) and then a half mile cool down. The pace was just a bit faster than distance run so it wasn't really hard at all. Jamie did it with us and we did the whole thing on the turf which felt great.
|
|
| | Easy distance today. Got some new shoes so that's sick, also Guppy updated me on all the things I should know about superheroes so that's good I guess. |
|
| | Mile warm up on the turf then the speed workout today was 2×(800, 600, 400, 200) the 8 and 6 were at goal two mile pace and the 4 and 2 were at goal mile pace, splits were 2:54, 2:09, 80, 40, 2:56, 2:15, 85, 36. I felt pretty good but my second 400 was way off base so I'm not pleased with that but overall I stayed in it mentally pretty much the whole time. I feel pretty good about it though and I'm getting pretty excited for races to start! Shout out to Mario for doing her first entire speed workout on the track with us this season, she kills it! |
Barefoot Miles: 1.50 | Asics 33-DFA Miles: 4.50 |

| | Was a bit cold and windy the first half but the last bit was quite pleasant actually. We also pet an adorably huge horse and practiced our rhyming (ex. I'm a huge fan of Gan) ;) |
| |
| | 6×400 at current mile pace. Splits were 84, 82, 83, 80, 77, 79 It was a pretty easy workout but my legs were pretty tired today so that was a bit rough. Dual meet tomorrow against Lone Peak so that should be sick. |

Lone Peak vs Lehi Dual Meet (0.5 Miles) 00:02:38 | | Did 2.5 shakeout after school then drove over to Lone Peak. Held baby Finn for a bit then Warmed up with Gan for a mile then warmed up a tad bit early so we had a bit of sitting around to do. Also I forgot a snickers so I just had half a granola bar instead. Did some strides and got ready to race. They split us into two heats and my time was right on the cutoff, but I jumped in the faster heat so that's good. We started out and I got cut off a few times but I tried to focus on staying with the pack. I was a bit behind but I was feeling pretty good. Second lap my arms and legs were on fire they hurt so bad. Overall I wasn't super happy with my race but it went ok, especially with the speed workout yesterday. Cooled down by Highland Glenn Park, shout out to the guy who scared us on the cool down. And shout out to Gan for the grilled cheese and tomato soup, sorry Dallin for forgetting the cheese 😂 |

| | Did some solid speed today. 5×1000m at 2mile pace with 3:30 active rest between (my "active rest" was mostly just walking cuz of low mileage issues) Splits were 3:44 3:46 3:46 3:49 3:44 so the middle sets were a bit rough but overall I was really happy with the workout. My legs were thrashed from some lifeguarding stuff so I thought this was gonna be a lot worse than it was so I guess that's good. Shout out to Gan, Lil Nug, and Emily cuz we're the only girls in the two mile group! |

| | Crashed Morp last night with Guppy and I didn't get to bed til 1am so getting up at 7am to go running with Gan and Watson was a bit tough. But I did and we ran from Gans to the AF Rec Center, on the way we passed the AF girls out on a run. Anyways once we got there we did some.great yoga although I was not feeling extremely flexible lol it's fine. Went back to Gans and had a delicious breakfast, and recently took a solid 2.5hr nap, it's been a good day. |
| |
| | Warmed up a mile on the turf, then did 3 strides and 2×400 at 2mile pace with a really easy recovery lap in between. Then 3 starts and finished up mileage. 10min of abs and a super cold ice bath. Race tomorrow, hopefully all goes well. |

Davis Supermeet (2 Miles) 00:12:24 | | Well we got to Davis and it was hailing so me and Gan set up camp inside Davis since we weren't running til like 5:40. Watched the mile, chilled for a while longer, played some speed (which I won) and finally warmed up a mile. We were doing drills on the turf and the weather went from being chilly but not bad to snowy and windy and cold. By the time the race started the snow and wind had backed off though so that was good. First mile I stayed right on pace and just kept right next to this girl from Davis, then she pulled ahead of me and the next three laps I went super slow. Last lap I got back on pace and had a solid kick. Overall I felt there mentally the whole race so now I just need to match that physically and I'll be set. Nice job to everyone who raced today also just in case you're not aware it's #NationalRoastWatsonWeek so prepare your roasts accordingly ;) |

| | Went to the SLC temple with Gan, Watson, and Guppy then we cruised on over to Davis to watch the boys. Did a mile then jogged around some while we waited for the 1600 after watching that we went out on a real run. I absolutely love that area even if we ran up a hill for a super long time. Watched the rest of the races then hurried home for Watson because we love her. Shout out to all the boys because they raced awesome today, and they invited us to Pizza Pie which is always a quality time. And happy birthday to Granny Gan (she's gettin old ;) |
| |
| | 250free warm up then 10×(25lung buster, 50backstroke, 25sprint) and 250cool down. Was a bit tough today I guess I'm still tired from Tuesday. At our in service for work tonight we're gonna work on spinals so if you're planning on getting a head neck or back injury no worries I got you |
| | Went home during 2nd and slept for 2hrs which was nice since I haven't been sleeping well all week. For our workout today we did a mile warm up on the turf then 6×400 at mile pace and 3×200 all out with 2:30 rest between each. We had a real struggle pacing, the wind threw us off a bit but splits were 84, 79, 82, 81, 80, 80 and I don't remember the 200s but they were quick. Afterwards my body was shot so.our cool down was ultra slow. Shout out to the crossing guard who gave us Easter candy and to Riley for all the food. Unshoutout to Collin, because, as Gan says, "do we really need a reason?" ;) |

| | Easy distance with Gups on the MCT and Happy Birthday to Asa! |
|
| | Easy distance, it was a bit chilly but nothin we couldn't handle. Did some quality abs afterwards. Shout out to the 13year old who asked for number at work, too bad for him I don't just hand that out like candy lol. And HUGE shout out to Connor and Josh for getting their mission calls! Nice job guys you're the best! |
| |
| | Warmed up and did 2×(3×300) first 3 at slower than goal 800 and next 3 at goal 800 pace. Would've been 3 sets but I raced the 800 so I didn't do the last set. Warmed up for the 800 way too early so my legs got way chilly and I'm not gonna lie it was rough. Afterwards I did a half mile cool down and rushed to work. Also I wrote all the stickers for the distance events so feel free to compliment my handwriting ;) and shout out to Connor for announcing the whole meet. Don't know my time so.I'll put that in later. |

| | Easy distance. Pretty tired today. Gups dabbed at like every stoplight so you could say we're pretty cool. |
| |
| | Hit the pool and did 100free warm up then the breathing workout I got up to 12 strokes, then 5×(50kick 50aqua jog) and 200 cool down. |
| | Pre meet so warmed up, 3 strides then 2×400 at mile pace with easy lap and full recovery between. Hit 81s which is a bit quick but that's allright, better fast than slow. Did some starts then cooled down a mile. Jamie did ran with which was great. Shout out to Kaylee for helping face off with the boys on the warm up today #youdon'tscareus and shout out to Asa for getting his mission call yesterday!!! Super stoked for tomorrow it should be good. |

UVU Invite (2 Miles) 00:12:24 | | So I raced the mile this morning, mostly I just remember that we warmed up too early so I had to jog around a bit more. I raced in my tights but I definitely should've warn a shirt underneath because I got really cold. I couldn't get my arms or legs to move they were so stiff. Time was a 5:48 so pretty much super bad. I was disappointed but I tried to just kind of brush it off. Went home and watched the first conference session and took a nap. Came back and warmed up for the two mile. Was way warmer outside which felt really nice. Got out really well and was up near the front. First three laps were right on pace, and fourth was pretty much on pace. Then I let this girl get ahead of me I should've gone with her my time would've been much better. 6th and 7th lap were pretty rough but I got back on top of things for the last 800 and I pulled out a pretty good kick. The results say I DNS which is a bummer so this is the time Jamie got me at. So basically another match of my PR. I'm disappointed but I'm just gonna train really hard this next week and work on staying focused for those middle laps. On a side note I roasted Collin pretty good this morning so shout out to me for that ;) and shout out to everyone who raced today because you are all fantastic people :) |

| | Ran with the Pops today hit some killer hills and some wind...but the weather was beautifully fantastic and it was a wonderful run. Also spring break is a plus. |
|
| | Hiked like 10+ miles in Zions, I'm calling it the cross training day for the week. |
| | Another easy distance today, I'm doing today's speed on Saturday cuz I wanted to check out some trails. Ran with my dad down this trail it led to a pretty sick river and it was very adventurous. I have to say Hurricane is a pretty cool place and I'm kinda sad to be home. |
|
| | Headed to the MCT and warmed up a mile. Then did progression run, start at 1mile 60sec slower than 2mile pace, then 1mile 60sec slower than mile pace, 1mile 60sec slower than mile pace, and finish with .5mile all out. First two miles went really well, last one and a half not so much. Still I stayed pretty motivated, and I feel ok about it considering how tired my legs are and that I was alone. Shout out to my dad cuz he bought me a sick running tanktop, he's the best. And good luck to everyone racing at Arcadia this weekend you guys are gonna do great! |
|
| | Worked 9-1 then got in some weights. Afterwards ran to the cemetery and did whistle hills. It wasn't as thrilling without other people there but I still got the distances I normally do so that's good. Got a new fridge and it's sick so that's a win! |
|
| | Speed today, 2×600,500,400,300 at mile pace with 4min 3min 3min rest. It was not a good day. I couldn't hit any of my times and was super frustrated. My body just feels wrecked, I forgot to take my supplements this morning and I'm wondering if that had an effect on me. I guess I'll just have to learn from it and move on. Can't wait to see the team next week I'm missing you guys! |

| | Easy 4 we did the SOLW loop backwards and Jamie came with so shout out to her! And shout out to the rest of the girls just cuz I love you and I missed you all over the break. |
|
| | Warmed up a mile on the turf then 4×1000 at 2mile pace. Splits were 3:44 3:46 3:45 3:50. Last one I was having a hard time but when Jamie told me to surge up to her I did and then I held it so that was good. Overall I felt good about the workout and I feel ready for Saturday. Shout out to Jamie for running the workout with me since all the other girls did the mile workout! |
Barefoot Miles: 1.50 | Asics 33-DFA Miles: 2.50 |

| | Swim workout, 200wu then 10×(25lung buster, 50backstroke) 50aqua jog 150pull 50aqua jog 100pull and 50cool down. Kept it easy so that was good. Temple afterwards. |
| | The girls were doing pre meet but I'm not racing till Saturday so I just ran alone. Did 3.5 then 5×150 build ups. Jogged between to make up mileage. Shout out to Connor cuz I saw him.by the railroad tracks. It was ultra windy today but not too cold thanks to my handy dandy windbreaker headband and gloves :) #beprepared |
|
| | Ran a mile during Sports Med which was enjoyable. Pre meet today, hit an 85 on my first 400 so too fast, then 90 second lap so right on. It was insanely windy and it started snowing but I wasn't too cold so that's a win. Took a painfully cold ice bath but I'm really feelin good for tomorrow. Good luck to everyone racing this weekend! |

Utah County Invite (2 Miles) 00:12:27 | | Well warmed up a mile and was feeling really good. But I guess I was mistaken. Started out first lap came in around an 88 so that was good. Second lap too slow I got stuck behind some girls. Got out and the next three laps were right on. Then a girl went ahead of me, I tried really hard to go with her ans for a while I did but then she pulled away. After that I died hard but I was there mentally so that may have been the most frustrating. I started to get pretty discouraged but.picked it back up for the last lap. Kick coulda been better but it was pretty good. Super disappointed with my time I felt ready to PR today and I'm running out of races. Idk I guess I'll just keep.working on the mental game and hopefully my body will catch up. Cooled down with Gan then I had to go do some Temple Walk thing with my ward, it hasn't been the.greatest of days but that's allright. Shout out to everyone who raced, especially you 800 kids.I heard some awesome things about your races! |

| | Just medium mileage today. Pretty much just me and Watson, we headed towards AF Jr and ran through some neighborhoods we've never been in before so that was sick. Felt really good today. Pretty much chopped off all my hair just barely, jk it was just a trim but it sure feels short lol. Shout out to Watson for running with me and shout out to Denzil because he made me a pen! |
|
| | Warmed up a mile on the turf then started the speed. 3×(4 400s) with four minutes rest between sets, first set at slower than mile pace 2:30rest, splits 85, 84, 85, 85 second set mile pace 2:45rest, splits 84 so that one was too slow but no worries we picked it up for a 81, 81, 81 last set faster than mile pace 3:00rest, splits 80, 79, 79, 80 shoulda gone faster that last one but.I definitely pushed it so don't worry. Afterwards cooled down a half mile on the turf and did some abs and stretching. Afterwards helped out with results at the Tri-Meet (sorry it didn't get updated the computer wasn't working) shout out to Connor for announcing again and to Austin for helping me write out the times! Nice job to everyone who raced today you guys killed it! |

| | Headed out towards some reservoir but on account of my lower mileage I didn't make it clear out there. Had to stretch on the side of the road while I waited for the girls. It was hot today which was nice. The legs were pretty sore but that's allright. |
|
| | 250free warm up 5×(50kick 50pull 50free 50jog) 250free cool down. Temple after with the twins. |

Davis Invitational (2 Miles) 00:12:16 | | Started out the day with a mile warm up then raced the mile. I felt good, and the pace felt good but that's because it was too slow. Got a 5:50 and I need a 5:48 for BYU so I'm frustrated that I didn't get that since I totally know I can. But that's allright, it was a bit windy which probably affected me as well.
Next I raced the 3200m. I wasn't even sure I wanted to, it was pretty cold outside. But I did and I'm so glad. Kaylee was in my heat and for the first mile I just told myself that if I stuck with her I'd get a good time. Lap four some chick from Park City got into an elbow war with me cuz she was trying to cut in on the inside. I finally just let her go cuz she was not gonna stop. Lap five we got up behind this big group and I decided we needed Togo ahead so I did and Kaylee followed. From there we just worked together and finished off strong. I'm super pumped because it's an 8sec PR and my first one of the season. Its really nice to finally see some results!
Took a nice long nap then ran the 4×800m. Can't say our time was super amazing or anything lol but it was a good time even in the rain. I love those girls with all my heart they are the best <3
Hottubbing at my house after which is always fun. Nice job to everyone who raced today I hope all your fingers and toes warm up soon :) |

| | Jamie wanted some hills in today so me and Kaylee headed up to the Jr. High then left on 1200 and down airport through the cemetery and back. Saw the boys today and holy cow that pack was huge! Stretched out real nice and did 15min of abs. Ended up being warmer than I thought it would be so that's a win. |
| |
| | Filmed some thing for the senior video then did a mile warm up. Speed today 3×(300 200 100) at goal 800 pace. Splits: 56 36 17 53 34 17 55 34 16 a bit faster than needed but that's allright. I felt pretty good the whole time, legs were a bit sore and stomach was a lil buggy but I the workout still went well. Cooled down mostly with Kaylee. Cold and rainy and cold today. |

Tiger Trials Invitational (1 Miles) 00:05:44 | | Warmed up a mile with the girls and headed to the bull pen. I was in heat three so I watched the other girls race, they all killed it btw, then finally it was my turn. Weather was beautiful, a bit chilly but no wind or rain and I was prepared for both so that's a win. They split us into alleys but there were 30 girls in my heat so it was still super packed. Gun went off and I was in good position til everyone cut in. Then I basically had to go around everyone. Came through the first 400 at an 80 so too fast but I didn't worry about it. Settled in fourth behind a LP girl and just let her carry me through the second lap. Third lap we hit the two hundred and were too slow so I tried to pick it up. Apparently I didn't get much faster lol but I didn't slow down at all so that's good. Last lap my arms and legs felt so stiff like they could hardly move. I got passed by some people but I was literally trying so hard. Kick coulda been faster but I was definitely dead by the end. I'm super happy though cuz I'm qualified for BYU and that was the goal. And it's a PR for the season so hopefully an overall PR is just around the corner. Shout out to everyone who raced today nice job and good luck to everyone who hasn't yet! Proms tonight should be sick. |

| | Headed to the Provo river trail with Guppy, Collin, and Ryan. It was super pretty and fantastic. Saw a snake and pretty much almost died. Terrifying. Chilled while Ryan finished up his miles then cruised over to Ryan's for some nectarines and quality grilled cheese. Played a game of ping pong, I guess I.better get to work on Ryan's grass bracelet... |
|
| | Half mile warm up on the turf then 2×(200,800,400,200,200,200) 2's at 800pace, 8 at 2mile pace, and 4 at mile pace. 90sec between everything and 4min rest between sets. Splits were 35, 2:55, 80, 37, 35, 36, second set 37, 3:05, 85, 37, 37, 36. First set felt good, second set I really struggled. Mentally I just wasn't there. Also a bit dehydrated and my stomach was bugging me. Really hurt after the workout. Half mile cool down on the turf. Nice job to everyone today. |

BYU High School Invitational (1 Miles) 00:05:42 | | Got to the meet and got ready to warm up. The weather was pretty nice, a bit chilly but not bad. Warmed up and stretched then headed to the bull pen. Found out I left one of my spikes (the whole shoe) at home. Slightly panicked and ran back to the team tent, thankfully Jamie had an extra pair and they fit. Was in the bull pen for a while, they finally took us out on the track. Got in a few strides, the shoes felt different but they weren't bad. Lined up then we started, I got out in pretty good position. Middle of the pack which was perfect. Don't remember too much about the first lap, but by the second I was up behind the leaders. Just hung on to them but we came through the 800 too slow. I picked it up for like the next 200 and then died hard. Going into the final lap I just felt sluggish and totally unfocused, also my stomach was hurting pretty bad which was weird. Next 300 was pretty rough, got passed quite a bit and had like zero motivation. Last 100 I told myself that a bad race doesn't have to mean a bad finish, so I pushed as hard as I could and pulled out a pretty good kick and passed quite a few girls, that last bit definitely saved my time. Time wise it's a season pr by two seconds, but overall that was the worst I've ever felt racing the mile so I'm not super happy with it. But the first two and a half laps were really good so that's a positive. Shoutout to Zack because I met him today, and to Jamie for coming in clutch with the extra spikes! And of course huge shoutout to everyone who qualified for state today!!!

Region 4 Championships (1 Miles) 00:05:43 | | Got to the meet and played some cards. Warmed up then headed to the check in area. Got on the line, me and Mario were in the same heat. Went off and I got a really good start right up near the front. Felt good but about 200m in my legs started to get real heavy and they were like that for pretty much the whole race. Pushed really hard to keep up with the leaders but I still fell off, threw in some surges but I'm not sure how much good that did. Last lap gave it all I had and had a good finish. It was definitely a solid race and I was really focused and into it the whole time so I'm happy. Also the weather was fantastic which is always a plus. Afterwards took a supercold ice bath and ate my weight in pasta. Kept the mileage extra super low to rest up my legs for the 3200 so we'll see how that goes. |

Region 4 Championships (2 Miles) 00:12:22 | | Got to the meet and and hung around for a while. Warmed up, was feeling pretty good definitely a little tired from yesterday. Jamie got me and Kaylee bumped up to the faster heat, which was good but also nerve wracking. Started out good, it was me Gan Watson and Kaylee in a pack. Then Gan and Watson pulled ahead during I think the third lap. After that it was pretty much just me and Kaylee. We took turns kind of trying to push the pace which was good. Seventh lap Kaylee started to pull ahead. I tried to go with but was a few paces behind. Last lap I saw these two girls dying and decided I needed to try and outkick them, which I did so I'm pretty proud of my finish :) Overall a pretty solid race, I really enjoyed it even though it was pretty tough. Good way to finish out my last season, can't believe it's over. This season has definitely not been what I was hoping for, but some positives are that I haven't been injured for an entire year, I've still improved time wise and mentally, and it's been a blast! | | Warmed up a mile then helped Mario with her speed, she had 3×200, 100m jog, 100m all out but I just did the 200s. Hit 32/33s for all of them. Legs still feel wrecked. Shout out to Jamie because she can turn water into chocolate milk lol. And to Mama Hinkley cuz she made us a killer breakfast and to the weather cuz it's great :) |

Wasn't too horrible but it's been a while since I've done hills so the legs are feeling pretty wrecked rn. | | Been on Trek the past three days so no @Collin I didn't just skip out on practice. Ran from my house to Art Dye park and back. Not gonna lie it was pretty tough and I got attacked by a bird lol. Watched the CBC shout out to Josh Collins for winning and everyone else who ran. Played some frisbee after which was fun. |

|
| | Slept over a bit and missed the warm up, the team did tempo today so I helped pace a group, it was 1.5 miles, the whole first mile was a gradual downhill and we came through at 6:45 then one of the girls started having a rough time so I slowed down and ran with her for encouragement. Felt really good, nice to shake out the legs a bit. Ice bath and two hour nap afterwards. Stoked for Ragnar. |

Wasatch Back Ragnar Relay Leg 1 (3.2 Miles) 00:21:25 | | Got to exchange 6 around 2:30ish. Checked on and such, and did .5 shakeout. Kinley handed off to me around 5 and was feeling great. So great that I had a 6:40 avg. pace so that's sick. My leg was supposed to only be 2.5miles but I didn't see the exchange zone and no one told me to stop so I got in an extra .7 (sorry Josh) but I was okay with that so no worries. Wasatch Back Ragnar Relay Leg 2 (4.28 Miles) 00:31:46 | | Leg 2: This was definitely my favorite leg. Got in about an hour and a half of solid sleep before Kinley handed off to me at midnight. First mile was on a pretty busy road but then it was on a pretty deserted one with lots of fields and hardly any houses. The stars and moon were super pretty and the weather was fantastic. My leg was mostly flat, a few baby uphills but nothing hard. I passed 25 people so that was fun cuz I always had someone to chase down. Leg 3: This one was way rough. I didn't realize I was gonna have hills cuz total elevation gain was 170ft but man I was wrong. First mile was gorgeous on a nice trail with some good downhill through some trees. The rest was in a neighborhood and was a lot of steepish downhill then long uphill. But I can't complain too much since lots of people had way harder hills than me. Either way it was way harder than I expected and not all that pleasant. Overall Ragnar was a blast! Shout out to my team for killing it you guys are super awesome! |
| |
| | Super slow and easy. Shout out to the twins for breakfast ans pretty much lunch as well. And shout out to me for winning croquet. :) |
|
| | I mighta not gotten up this morning cuz I was a tad sleepy :) so I ran after work at 5 which was pretty toasty. But it felt good and I just had grilled cheese and blueberries for dinner which is a plus in my book |
| |
| | Hiked Mt. Nebo, you know it was a good time |
| | Quality run with Gan cuz everyone else was gone. Abs, hips, and some upper body. Then ice bath in the SOLW because IT WAS ON!!! :) |
| |
| | Had work super early in the a.m. and took an ultra long nap, and ended up going swimming then rock climbing so I didn't get a run in today which is ok cuz the shins are kinda sore. Also hit up a YSA dance which was interesting to say in the least. |
| | Parked at the HS and did a half mile warm up to the overpass. Then did 6×800 at goal 5k pace over the overpass with 2min rest between. Was shooting between 3:15-3:20 for my splits but one way is much easier than the other so splits ended up being 3:20 3:00 3:17 3:02 3:21 3:03. Was definitely a good workout, I focused a lot on pushing myself and not letting my form fall apart when I'm tired. Worked out pretty good I think. Half mile cool down on the turf. Just finished swimming with Gan Gups Badoobs and Brynlee. Shout out to them because I love them :) |

New Dreammaker (1.5 Miles) 00:10:37 | | Woke up at 7:20 so I warmed up while everyone stretched. Started the new Dreammaker and was feeling pretty good. First hill wasn't too bad and second hill I was prepared for some serious pain like how it feels going up Airport but it wasn't actually too bad. Last .5 is all flat so I tried to focus on my kick, which could've been better. Should've pushed it harder on the second hill so that's too bad. Ran on the skyridge track which was pretty cool. Ice bath in SOLW good times. |
|
| | Woke up late again smh, but it's fine. Met at Lehi #lod twas a quality run with quality people |
|
| | Boating all day, wrecked my whole body pretty much. Didn't have time to run after but my muscles got a pretty workout nevertheless so no worries. |
| | Today was a toughie. Woke up at 10:30 and my neck back arms and legs were all so sore I could barely move. Ran at a significantly slow pace for the run but the muscles did loosen up a bit. Did a 15min ice bath submerged up to my neck at the SOLW so hopefully I'll be feeling better tomorrow. |
|
| | .5 WU then paced the 8min-8:45 group on their tempo so it was an easy day for me. Shout out to my group cuz the all killed it. Finished up mileage then headed home for a good ole nap. |
| |
| | Went and grabbed my stuff for the Freedom 5k at 9 then went for a quick run. Shout out to Mario cuz I saw her finishing up her run and to Jhoan and Jamie cuz they drove past me and said hi. I'm gonna be working at the pool til 5 so feel free to stop by and say hello ;) |

Freedom Run (3.107 Miles) 00:20:55, Place overall: 76, Place in age division: 6 | | Slept over at the gmas and woke up at about 5:45. Headed down to the course and did a mile warm up with good ole Gan. The start was a bit rough, quite a bit of weaving. I felt pretty good going into, first two miles were good. Then I lost Gan and we started the uphill which kinda wiped me out. Wish I coulda done better but nbd I will next time. Afterwards had some serious tunnel vision and almost passed out (probably fasting the day before.was not my best plan) but no worries I got some food in me and then I.was fine. Chilled with the peeps for a while then jogged on back to the car and headed home. Wish I could say I did something cool tonight instead of avoiding fireworks like the plague lol it's fine. Also I'm not sure where the fam is so if you see them feel free to tell them I'm home ;) shout out to everyone who killed it and to Gan because I love her. |

| | Didn't get off on the run til 12:45ish because of work. Went from my house down to the groval where I did a grass mile. I was gonna run in the cemetery but there was a funeral going on and I didn't want to distureb anyone. Then I ran up airport hill and along the road til I got on 1200e and headed back home. My legs were thrashed today so I let them have their recovery. Also there's a house in Lehi that's on fire, not sure who it is but keep them in your prayers.

| | Took Jack for a run but he was way tired I think he went on a run already this morning. But he was champ he's such a good dog. Quality run. |
|
| | Met at Gans at pretty much the crack of dawn and drove to the Provo River Trail. It was me Guppy Watson Gan and Rachel. Went out 2.5 and on the way back I was feelin good so I picked up the pace but I don't actually know how fast cuz Jimmys takin a rest day. Went back to Gans and did some abs and had some French Toast which was tasty. S/o to Dallin cuz he may be feelin slightly underappreciated after being picked up so late from road two days in a row lol trust me once you've got the license life is much better. |
|
| | Whistle hills with the crew. |
|
| | Easy breezy 7 and I did it around 11 and it wasn't even that hot. Ran into Jamie as she was finishing up her bike ride, she's the best. |
|
| | 1.5 wu then 3×mile repeats in the pit. I decided to go in the 6:30-7:20 group cuz I wasn't sure how fast I wanted to go. Splits ended up being 6:45 6:24 6:27 so shoulda gone faster on the first one. I felt really good though and last year I struggled to hit splits that quick whereas this time it was relatively easy. Did two miles on the grass at the cemetery and headed back to the park. Good stuff. |
Barefoot Miles: 2.00 | Asics 33-DFA Miles: 5.30 |
|
| | Ran to the park from my house and did the mile warm up with the team so got three there, then did 5with boys so shout out to them for going their recovery pace so I could run with them :) finished up an easy mile afterwards. Ice bathed with Dillan and Connor also shout out to Connor for the ride home I definitely appreciate that :) |
| |
| | Met up with the team and did 8×90sec pick ups, was gonna do something harder but the run tomorrow's gonna be a bit long so I didn't wanna be dead already. PM: Ran three miles to finish up to nine. Went swimmin with some people afterwards which was a party. |
|
| | Met up at the MCT and did an out and back. It was an extremely pleasant run so that's a win. Tasty breakfast @ Kneaders, HBD to Brynlee she's the best! Hit my highest mileage pretty much ever this week so that's also a win #50miles Hiking Horsetail Falls tonight so that'll be sick :) |
Asics 33-DFA Miles: 11.00 |

| | Did the skyridge version of the Dreammaker only decided not to race it cuz I'm a bit sore. So I paced Hannah and she killed it so shout out to her. Cooled down barefoot on the grass at skyridge and ran back to the park. Had a pretty tasty breakfast so that's a win. |
Barefoot Miles: 1.00 | Asics 33-DFA Miles: 4.00 |
| |
| | Warmed up to Airport hill from my house then did 3×3 90sec sprints up the hill, rest was the jog down and a lap around the groval between sets. Was pretty hard but stayed motivated and hit the same place every time which was good. Shout out to the guy who was doing repeats on the other side of.the hill, he kills it. Also saw two chickens crossing the road which fulfills one of my childhood dreams #whydidthechickencrosstheroad? |

6 Minute Test (1.019 Miles) 00:06:00 | | Warmed up to Skyridge and got ready for the six minute test! Girls went first so we hopped on the line, Jamie fired the imaginary gun and we were off. Didn't figure out exact splits in my head but I knew I wanted to be over a mile so around 90sec. Came through first lap at like an 84 and was feeling pretty good. Third lap I slowed quite a bit and realized I had like exactly 90sec so I picked it up. Finsihsed really hard, started sprinting before there was 10sec left so that's good. Got 4 laps and 40meters so I felt pretty good about it. Definitely one of my favorite workouts that we do. |

|
| | Got on the run around 7:30, went from my house to the park by freedom and hopped on the MCT. Got about half a mile past Highland Glen Park before turning around, it was super nice and too hot. Kept the pace avg around 7:45 last mile I was feeling good so I dropped a 6:50 which felt nice. Ended up finishing in my neighborhood so I had walk a bit back to my house and my neighbor gave me a caprisun so that's a win. Shout out to the LP boys cuz I saw them out on their run while I was on mine. |

| | Well it's been a while since I've written a quality blog post so I'm gonna write a long one and recap what I've been up to. So Friday the 16th was the last day of school before fall break. I donated some plasma after class then took of to Cali with Garrison Mirryn and Brandon. Saturday we went to Newport beach, twas fantastic and Garrison let me eat some of his pizza so I didn't even have to buy dinner. 🙌 Sunday church was quality. Monday it was rainy so we went to Disneyland!!! Relived some childhood memories there haha. Watched some Nacho Libre that night after a tasty dinner which I also didn't have to ay for. Tuesday spent a few precious hours at the beach before heading back to Cedar. Wednesday woke up late and donated so no run for me. Thursday night Emily cane down and slept over at my house!!! Love her! Friday skipped class and went hiking in Zions with Emily and her super cool friends from Snow. Saturday went to some lava tubes and hot springs with the fan Ended an exciting week with game night after church on Sunday where I won two people at speed and almost dominated at scum. If you actually read all of that, s/o to you for being a real friend :) |

| | Went in the afternoon with Macey. We ran up the big hill. It was super duper windy and I almost got blown off the overpass! But it was a good run and not cold, which is cold now. Or maybe I'm just still cold from donating plasma...either way its supposed to snow tonight so pray for me cuz its gonna be cold!!!
|
Saucony Mirage 5 Teal Miles: 3.00 |
|
| | First snowfall of the season! Scraped like two feet of the stuff off my car, but I broke out my new coat and its toasty warm. So thats a win. Went up the big hill, down past stadium way to the busy street, and back on 300w. Surprisingly I'm not too dissapointed about the snow, that'll probably change though....oh well :)

| | Twas a frosty twelve degrees this morning
When Sami and Macey ventured out for a run
They thought the snow was pretty
And that it would be fun
Mile one was chilly
"We'll warm up" they thought naively
Mile two was downright cold
Cold hands
Cold lips
Cold nose
Mile three they almost died
Sami couldn't feel her toes
Will they ever thaw out?
No one really knows.
