The girls race was at 8:30,we warmed up at like 8:00 because it was so cold outside. We started out the race and I got boxed in for a minute but after rounding the first sharp corner I was able to get out. During the first mile I felt really good, I didn't see any of the other girls (we got separated at the beginning) so I just tried to run my race and stay with the people around me. Second mile I kinda lost it for a minute-I couldn't really breathe very well and I was super cold especially my hands and legs-so that mile wasn't very good. Last mile I got back into focus and tried to work on sticking with the pack just in front of me. I held onto them pretty good and then Kaylee caught up with about 800 and we ran most of the last bit together, I lost her for a minute on the track coming in to the finish, but I finally convinced my legs to sprint and came in just milliseconds behind her. Overall I am pleased with how I raced and I can't wait for NXR to try and improve some more!

Shout out to the fam for bringing me hot chocolate and croissants at work, they're the best. And today I'm #grateful for wool socks because they keep my toes warm and toasty.
