Pre meet today. I left my clothes and shoes at home so I went there after school and changed, then ran the mile to cemetery to meet up with the team. While I was waiting for everybody to get there I did another .5 on the grass. Then we did and 800 at goal 5k pace (3:08) afterwards another 1.5 on the grass and then I ran back home. I tried to go ice bath at the SOLW but it was off so that's no good, but I just had a fantastic smoothie from Roxberry so that's sick. Also shout out to my baby sis cuz it's her BIRTHDAY!

Well basically it was raining and hailing at lunch so I pretty much prepared for Park City the way one prepares for a climbing expedition on Mt. Everest. Suffice it to say I brought more than a few jackets. Anyways it was not raining or hailing up at the race, but it was for sure still super cold. When I started out for my race my muscles were all cold and even though I was wearing tights my legs didn't really warm up till about halfway in. My arms were freezing as well so I kinda felt like I was running and carrying bricks. My start ended up not being very good, I got cut off a ton and actually had someone grab my my arm and pull me backwards so that was nice. So the first part of my race was pretty tough physically and mentally but after that I kinda picked up the pace and started working on catching up to other girls. When I hit the grass hill I slowed down a lot, I think my fear of slipping got the best of me. But my kick at the end was good so I'm happy with that. Other than my legs and arms feeling super heavy I would say it was a pretty good race. I don't actually know my time so that's just a guess but I'll fix that once I know.

On a side note, shout out to all the people managed to table top me today despite my superhuman stealth, and shout out to Collin, Connor, Guppys, and Bill for coming hottubbing and getting pizza tonight. Also shout out to boys varsity for taking first #goals literally.

Met at Summercrest Park at 8:15 and went on a run with Watson, Bill, Butters, Megan, and Guppy. We ran to the Murdock Canal trail and took that up to Smith's then ran on the trail a bit longer then turned around and headed to Kneaders where we got some breakfast. By then we were all done with mileage so Guppys dad came and picked us up. It was a super fun run and the weather was really nice. And of course Kneaders is always fantastic.

Did half mile warm up then led team stretches #represent then varsity had a speed workout, we did 12×400s: the first four were at 5k pace (goal pace ranging from 90-1:40) with one min rest between each, the next four were at 2mile pace (80-90) with two min rest between each, and the last four were at mile pace (75-85) with three min rest between each. My splits were 94 92 92 95 90 85 87 85 79 82 81 83. I felt pretty good during the workout but my legs were super heavy by the end. It felt good to do some faster leg work today. Basically I'm getting pretty stoked for region it should be awesome!

Cross training today! 50m warm up then 10×(25m aqua jog, 25m swim, 25m aqua jog, 25m swim) plus 200m kick then 50m cool down in the pool. Since I did not have to go to school today I went swimming around 8am,then had a fantastic breakfast. It was really just great.

Pre region-ran to the cemetery then did some strides, 800 on the grass (3:07) and some starts. After the run I took a 15min ice bath. We just had a team dinner which was delicious as always. Right now I'm elevating the ole legs before heading off to bed. We've got Region tomorrow and I'm pumped!

Well Region did not go well for me. I'd prefer to not dwell on it so I'll just leave it at this: I felt good first mile and a half of the race but then I kinda lost it mentally, and the rest of the race I really struggled. We missed qualifying by four points so that's been hard to deal with. On the bright side I was only 7 seconds off my PR so I didn't do as bad as I thought. Guppy made it to state though so I'm super stoked to watch her race!

Well until we pick up training for NXR I'm just running with Guppy so she doesn't have to be alone. So today we went over the overpass and then took a right and pretty much ran straight til we hit a park. Then we mighta gone down the slide and had some adorable little kids tell us to "Get of our pirate ship!" It twas pretty cute. Then we ran on a nice little trail for a bit before moving on to AF Jr High where we stopped for a quick drink/bathroom break. Then we ran back to the high school and got in ten minutes of abs. #getswoll And I just had a delicious popsicle so it's ok if your jealous. :) Also you should note that 6.3miles is the farthest I've gone on a run in a while so that's sick.

Guppy and I ran during fourth period today so that was sick. We hit up the Murdock Canal trail and took it till we got up by Smith's, then we took a right and ran on the road behind Smith's til we hit the Timpanogas Highway and ran on the trail that goes along that til we hit Wendy's, where we took a quick stop and got some cups and filled them with ice-which was fantastic-then we ran back. It was a great run especially because we've never gone over there before. Quote of the day by Guppy, "Sometimes life is just golden."

Well the rest of last week I was forbidden to run so that's why I didn't in case you were wondering. But today Badoobs and I went on a trail run up Corner Canyon, it was fantastic! All the leaves were changing colors and the weather's so nice. It was definitely a good reminder of why I enjoy running so much.

Went on another wonderful trail run today. The fall weather is just absolutely beautiful. I really need to go on trail runs more often they are just so enjoyable and the hills and higher elevation are so good for me. Basically let me know if you ever wanna go cuz I'm 100% down all the time!

Ran a mile with Jadon and then ran up to then cemetery and did a mile on the grass and back to the high school again. And in case you were wondering I do in fact have the highest mileage out of everyone on the team this week so feel free to be impressed #callmegarek And shoutout to our boys team because they killed it yesterday at State taking 2nd place and shout out to Gups because she did amazing at State as well with a fourteenth place finish! I'm so proud of the team and everything they've accomplished this year!

One mile warm up, then we did a circuit workout where we ran a lap then did some sort of arm/leg/ab exercise for one to two minutes. I did the laps barefoot on the turf so that felt good, and we did this for a total of two miles. Then a mile cool down and some headstand practice.

Just ran down my road towards the Alpine Highway till I hit two miles then came back. Good run, the cooler weather has been nice. Shoutout to my work family because we partied hard last night! Good times.

Ran 3 with Kaylee up and over the overpass through the neighborhood by the Jr. High and back down the road by Sego Lily and back over the overpass. Then 1.5 on my own on the turf. Shout out to the marching band for making me feel like I had my own theme music #movieworthy and to all the boys on the team providing me with all sorts of ideas for Sadies. Pilgrims and gorillas will be highly considered but I make NO promises.

Warm up barefoot on the turf, then ran up and over the overpass turned left at the end of the cemetery and ran past the SOLW and past Trafalga, then down to Main St. and back. Did some abs and stretching after. Shoutout to the fan club I didn't know I had because they rock! And shoutout to Thom because he helped me with some killer math today!

Cross training today-I was feeling pretty sick after school so I got on the elliptical for like 20mins before just heading home. I had some soup and took a nap and in feeling a lot better so hopefully I'm good by tomorrow.

4 mile progression run-our first mile was supposed to be a minute slower than goal 5k pace and then each mile from there on out was supposed to be 10sec faster than the one before. Goal pace is a 6:30 and my splits ended up being 7:25, 7:07, 6:52, 7:13 so we definitely need to keep a better eye on the pacing. I was feeling really good the first three miles but on the last one my stomach really cramped up and it hurt a ton! I talked to Jamie and she thinks I probably need to hydrate more which makes sense because I haven't been very good at that since it started getting colder-also I think I'm still just feeling a little sick from yesterday. Hopefully it blows over soon.

I ran during first period today because I had to work the Halloween party right after school! It was pretty chilly so I definitely struggled getting the muscles warmed up even in tights and a jacket. My left calf was feeling a little sore at the beginning but it feels alright now so that's good. I didn't have time to get that last mile in so I'll have to make it up tomorrow. That's allright though it'll be a nice long run.

Shout out to Caleb for my buying me and Connor some heavenly hot chocolate today and shout out to all the people who asked me if I had even dressed up today at the Halloween Party (answer:yes, I dressed up as a flower child aka hippy) and of course shout out to all the small children who were impressed with my face painting skills

Ran on the Murdock Canal Trail with Guppy today, we went at like 1:00 and the weather was really nice. Really good run it was nice to talk for a bit. Shout out to Matt Todd because it's his birthday and he's killing it on his mission!
