Just graduated from Lehi High School and am headed down to SUU this fall. Besides running I also love hiking, boating, paddleboarding, the beach, the sun, the summer, basically anything warm :)

Easy low mileage again today. I ran with Guppys and Alexis and we didn't do any grass so that's new. Then we lifted some weights #getswoll and finished off the day with a XC dinner at Ryan's so shout out to him for that!

We treated today like a tempo run so first two miles were supposed to be 6:45-6:55 pace. First mile I think I heard someone yelling splits and we were at a 6:40 but I don't have any other splits or my time yet. During the warm up my IT Band was pretty tight and by the end of the second mile it was hurting pretty bad. So I slowed down quite a bit so that I didn't strain it any worse because I wanna be in good shape for BYU. Other than that I was feeling super good so I can't wait to see how BYU goes! Afterwards I hit up the SOLW which is terrifying at night in case anyone is wondering.

So today was my cross training day and I decided to do a swim workout. I did 10mins of aqua jogging in the deep end as a warm up, then 8×50swim, 50kick. I finished up with another 5mins of aqua jogging in the shallow end as a nice cool down. Also I went off the high dive since we are closing soon. Like on Monday. So shout out to all the lifeguards I've had a blast with this summer and especially to my team for Indoor vs Outdoor games cuz we totally dominated! (In case your wondering I'm a lifeguard at the outdoor pool) #teamtriceretops

Cut back the miles today cuz of my IT Band. Its still a but sore but for the most part it's feeling pretty good. We did pre meet today, 3 strides, an 800 at goal 5k pace (3:12) and 3 practice starts with the team. I'm pretty stoked for tomorrow there's always a ton of great teams and competition there. After our run today we headed down to the SOLW and so my legs are gonna 've feeling fresh to death tomorrow!

So the night before the race I carb loaded and went to bed early so I woke up feeling pretty good. We were supposed to race at 10:15 but at like 9:45ish they announced that they were pushing it back-that was frustrating since we had already warmed up but it was allright. We ended up racing at 11:20-at the very start my legs felt kinda heavy and tired but by a half mile in they had warmed up and were feeling good. The first 1.5miles or so I was able to stay right by Kaylee just a little bit behind Butters and Alexis. The next mile I definitely fell off pace, I was really tired and I lost Kaylee, eventually Emily came up behind me but I didn't go with her when I should've. The last half mile was good, Jamie told me to we needed catch the Riverton girl ahead of me which I did, and I felt like my kick was really good (that new track is just fantastic) Overall I just need to focus more on improving that middle mile and then I'll start to do even better. On a happier note, today was a PR for me so I'm super pumped about that! Also Maddy Kauffman came up and it was super fun to see her. And as a girls team we took 4th and last year we took 13th so kinda cool to see how much we've improved!

My legs were feeling pretty fresh for today after a KILLER ice bath yesterday. But my race ended up not being very good~ ever since I got sick last week I haven't been feeling very good, and I haven't been able to eat as much food. So this next week I'm gonna really focus on getting in the calories and hopefully my races will start improving. Looking back on my race o definitely fell of during the second mile-that's when I lost Emily and Megan, but I got back on track pretty quickly and tried to focus on catching other teams. I felt like I was there mentally but my body was just exhausted. As for the team everyone is looking super good! Shout out to our boys team for taking fourth and Connor and Ryan for taking top 20!

Half mile warm up barefoot on the turf, then s200, 400, 800, 1600, 800, 400, 200 all at 5k pace (6:35) with 1min, 2min, 3min, 4min, 3min, 2min rest. Splits were 46, 97, 3:16, 6:37, 3:10, 84, 34. Afterwards 1.5mile cool down with Megan and Alexis. And shout out to my mom for making a killer dinner for me tonight! She's always got my back!
